The History of Orgonite | Who Discovered Orgonite?
Who discovered Orgonite and how?
Orgonite was discovered in the 1930s by Austrian doctor of medicine and psychoanalyst Wilhelm Reich (1897-1957), who detected and measured orgonic energy using a Geiger counter that he specially modified.
Dr. Reich found that putting alternating layers of fiberglass and steel wool would attract and store orgone energy of the life-helping form, which Dr. Reich called “OR” and the harmful deadly orgone or “DOR”.
He built large boxes that he called orgone accumulators using this layering principle and managed to give various physical and psychological benefits to patients by putting them inside the box for a few hours.
Originally, Dr. Reich had to build his orgone accumulators far away from sources of deadly orgone, such as nuclear power plants and phone towers, as it attracted both orgone energy (OR) and deadly orgone energy (DOR) indiscriminately. It would be decades before a solution was found.
Finishing Dr. Wilhelm Reich's Work
Dr. Reich’s work was continued during the 1960’s by Russian scientists like Dr. Nikolai Kozyrev (1908-1983), known for scientifically proving that unseen energies exist all around us, and whose work led to the development of Soviet military defense applications which used “torsion fields” (another term for orgonic energy). Kozyrev’s work was classified until in 1991, when the Soviet Union collapsed.
In 1986, some scientists working for the University of Marburg in Germany published what they found in a blind study they designed. It showed that orgone accumulator treatments just 30 minutes in length caused positive psychological and physiological effects that were not seen with fiberglass box without the steel wool used as the control, stating that “the results we found in our investigation give evidence for the orgone accumulator’s efficacy power to help humans, as were found by Dr. Reich and his associates.”
The Discovery of Modern Orgonite
In 2000, Don and Carol Croft discovered via both Internet research and their own empirical observation that mixing inorganic metal shavings with catalyzed organic fiberglass resin and pouring them into small molds produced a substance which attracted etheric energy similarly to Dr. Reich’s accumulators.
Carol Croft, realized the true meaning of this finding and took it further by adding tiny quartz crystals to this mixture because of their power to collect, change and give off etheric energy. This new addition to the resin/metal mix creates a substance which acts as an energy transmutation factory, converting deadly orgone energy (DOR) to orgone energy (OR). All orgonite follows the Croft’s formula to this day.
